Description
Located at the Corporate Accounting offices in Livermore and reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Senior Accountant is a key member of the Corporate Accounting Team. This temporary position is an addition to the team for the duration of a large accounting software implementation project. The successful candidate will combine the following talents:
-Proven ˇ§hands onˇ¨ technical expertise in transactional accounting, general ledger accounting, reporting and monthly close processes
-Proven, highly productive team player with the ability to multitask and to prioritize to meet deadlines and changing needs
-High level Excel skills, with VLookup and Pivot Table capability preferred
-Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
-Ability to work successfully and companionably with all levels of team members
Qualifications
-Bachelors degree or higher in accounting or related major
-At least 5 years of general transactional accounting experience or 3+ years of public accounting
-"Hands on", in-depth experience in A/R, A/P, and GL reconciliations
-Strong general ledger account analysis, month-end close and reconciliation experience
-Strong computer and Excel skills, with Access skills a plus
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
-Able to work independently and within a team environment
-Proven dedication to internal and external customer service
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment
-Able to use sound and accurate decision making skills
Duties
-Work with the other members of the Accounting team to ensure the completion of timely and accurate monthly general ledger close in a multi-company, multi-division, multi-branch environment
-Produce required monthly and quarterly reporting to finance and operational personnel. Produce Excel based templates
-Maintain responsibility for assigned general ledger transactions in a manual Excel and Access environment. Ensure accurate and timely reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations, payroll entries, capital assets, prepaids and accruals. Work with transactional groups as needed to ensure that any required "fixes" are understood and accomplished promptly.

-Ability to research complex matters in multiple systems and analyze for appropriate solutions
