Qualifications
• 3 to 4 years of procurement or supply chain planning experience working in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to multi task and show attention to detail.
• General knowledge of purchasing procedures, common industrial terminology and common business software.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally communicate with internal and external customers.
• Analytical and research skills to evaluate and communicate complex, dynamic commodity data.
• Understanding of problem solving and knowledge of root cause analysis tools.
• Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing practices and working in a cross-functional environment preferred.
• Excellent conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Adaptability to changing requirements.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Construction/building materials knowledge is a plus.
Experience/Education Required/Desired:
• Minimum AA degree with 3 to 4 years experience in a purchasing agent position within a supply chain.
• BA degree with 1 to 2 years experience.
Duties
• Execute purchasing strategies with suppliers including on-going negotiations, price management and day-to-day support of efficient supply chain operations.
• Play a key role in the development and execution of multi-regional procurement strategies including supplier segmentation, bidding, cost analysis and inventory optimization.
• Develop and maintain relationships with both internal customers and suppliers while aggressively driving to results that make our company more competitive.
• Manage day-to-day business activities that will ensure achievement of annual goals.
• Support regional negotiations and lead all local negotiations.
• Identify, gather and analyze internal and external intelligence such as market trends, supplier capabilities, specification data and customer requirements to optimize long-term purchasing decisions.
• Determine and maintain optimal stock levels through active and effective interaction with warehouse personnel.
• Proactively generate and implement ideas that will continuously improve our overall operations and business processes.
